6.6 Training Program

In most cases, and for most departments, training employees is done on an individual basis by the department manager. Even if you have had previous experience in the specified functions of your job duties, it is necessary for you to learn our specific procedures, as well as the responsibilities of the specific position. The following training sessions are required:

  • All employees will receive a minimum of 12 hours of staff development training each year.
  • All employees are required to complete an agency overview, blood-borne pathogens, and community inclusion training annually.
  • Direct Support Professionals are required to maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Direct Support Professionals are required to maintain current training in mental health wellness and de-escalation strategies.

Function/job specific trainings may be available to the employee to support credentials/licensure. Contact your Supervisor for additional information.
